CalculusKitzo is an independent tutoring website. This page explains how it relates to a famous calculus book, and what is — and is not — on this site.
Inspired by a great book — not a copy of it
The chapter ordering on CalculusKitzo follows the classic single-variable calculus syllabus popularised by Adrian Banner’s The Calculus Lifesaver:
BANNER, A. (2007). The Calculus Lifesaver: All the Tools You Need to Excel at Calculus (SCH-School edition). Princeton University Press. http://www.jstor.org/stable/j.ctt7s1h6

Chapter topics — limits, derivatives, integration, series, Taylor series, differential equations, and so on — are standard, public mathematical knowledge. Where CalculusKitzo follows the book’s sequence of topics, it does not copy the book’s prose, examples, figures, notation layouts, or exercises.
Every lesson, worked example, diagram idea, hint, and exercise on this site has been written from scratch for CalculusKitzo, then reviewed and enriched with AI engines (drafting variations, checking numerical answers, generating extra practice, and testing auto-marking) under human supervision. The result is not identical to any published textbook: our examples use different numbers, our explanations reorder ideas for an interactive format, and our practice sets are built for instant browser marking.
No affiliation, no endorsement
CalculusKitzo is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Adrian Banner, Princeton University Press, or any publisher. The word “lifesaver” above refers to the well-known book we admire; this site is a separate project. If you enjoy this kind of clear, example-driven calculus, we warmly recommend buying the book itself.
Accuracy
Mathematical facts (formulas, theorems, standard methods) are not copyrightable and are used freely. We verify every exercise answer automatically, but typographical or pedagogical errors can still slip through. If you spot one, tell us at hello@calculus.kitzo.work — report it with the chapter and question number and we’ll fix it.
